Who am I ?
I’m Joanne and I grew up in London many of you may not be aware but there is a side of me that you wouldn't even know existed if you were to take one look at me you would think that I was a normal person

BUT I was born with right side Hemiplegia which means my right side has muscle paralysis and weakness and is more commonly known as Cerebral Palsy
Growing up with this condition had its challenges. I was very aware I “looked” different to other children. Of course, this led to bullying, and my self-esteem and feeling of self-worth plummeted. I became more introverted and avoided mixing with others for fear of the reaction I would get. This resulted in me only having a handful of friends. It was a very lonely time!
After completing college, I started working as a carer for the elderly. This in itself created some challenges as I had to find the right company to suit me! I eventually did and loved the relationships I created with my elderly clients, hearing their amazing stories and just knowing that I was making a difference in their daily life meant so much to me,
Then the Pandemic hit! I no longer had a job!
I didn’t know what I was going to do! What I did know was that I have a passion for helping people!
I had been through so much over the years and I just knew my experience could be what could help someone else. I started to look deeper into coaching, how it will help me build my confidence and self-belief, and what it would mean to be able to help people to start believing in themselves and felling empowered to achieve ANYTHING they want to no matter what.
In 2023 Joanne Whittaker Empowering the disabled was born. Since then, I have helped numerous clients identify the root cause of what is standing in their way. I’ve shared with them the techniques and strategies they need, the motivation they require and the support to get them to where they ultimately wish to be.
